Even with only 22% access to the internet, African content producers are coining it.

According to a survey by CashNetUSA, on a continent with only 22% internet access, YouTube is king, and South African, Kenyan, Nigerian, and Ugandan entrepreneurs are making a fortune. African YouTubers have always struggled to match the viewership of major content producers on other continents because only 22% of the continent’s population has access to the internet.

Despite this, there are indications that there is a rising demand in the area for YouTube content. According to the survey, at least 300 channels have more than 100K subscribers within Kenya, Nigeria, and South Africa.

According to the survey, the Creative Crafts in Five Minutes YouTube channel is Africa’s top earner. It has generated roughly $ 8,776,820 since its debut in 2017. The article stated that “the practical how-to manuals have been seen more than 4 billion times.” Oum Walid, an Algerian cookery YouTuber who earns over $4, 879,997, comes in second.

Nigerian comedian Mark Angel earns the most money in Sub-Saharan Africa with roughly over  $ 4,176,426. Baraka Ibaraka, a Moroccan, comes in below Mark Angel with earnings of almost $ 2,892,673, followed by Hussein and Zeinab, a Senegalese couple, who have earned a combined around $ 2, 301,395.

Masaka Kids Africana, a Ugandan children’s musical group, is thought to have earned roughly  $ 1,341,980. Their most recent upload has an exhilarating rhythm to Calm Down by Selena Gomez and Rema.

South African native Michael Jamison, 48, is responsible for compiling the list of billionaire investors. Jamison gained notoriety for keeping Ozzy, a Siberian tiger, and two Bengal tigers named Enzo, and Diego and have amassed a cool $1,060, 974 on his YouTube channel.

Despite the growing popularity of competing platforms for creating content like TikTok, Instagram, and Twitch, YouTube continues to rule. It is the second-most visited website after Google and claims 14.3 billion views each month, which is more than Facebook and Wikipedia combined.
