Nigerian music sensation, David Adedeji Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has declared that he will now charge a fee of $600,000 per concert performance (approximately Ksh 87 million). He cited the desire to manage his busy schedule as the primary reason for the increase in his fee.
Davido expressed that his higher rate reflects his intention to limit the number of shows he performs each month. He emphasized that by charging a premium, only a select few will be able to afford his performances, resulting in fewer bookings. This approach allows him to maintain a balanced schedule and prioritize quality over quantity.
“I mean now I charge $600,000 per show (roughly about Sh. 87 million) so it is less actually. You feel me? Because the less people can pay, the fewer shows I will perform in a month.”
The artist stated
Davido revealed that he intends to limit his monthly concert performances to around three or four shows. Despite the reduced frequency, this arrangement still proves lucrative for the artist, as it translates to an income of “2 or 3 million dollars” per month, should he perform four shows.
The announcement has evoked mixed reactions from fans. Some commend Davido for recognizing his worth and refusing to settle for less, while others express concerns about the high cost of tickets, which may deter them from attending his concerts.
